Our Adventure - The Grand Finale!

Our Adventure - Day 6

🌟The Grand Finale🌟

When we woke for the final day of our journey it felt like the beginning of a new chapter for us. We woke early tired and a bit groggy but renewed and ready. It was going to be a long day of driving to Terrace, an estimated 12 hours of driving plus of course stops. The hotel we stayed at had a breakfast special, we broke our fast there around 7 am. Since it was attached to the hotel we left our stuff in the room for when we were done our meal. Jasper was a surprisingly small town and the hotel fit that same description. It was a beautiful, cozy, homey place. We packed the cars once again with our overnight bags and got ready for the final leg of our tour across Canada.

❤️Drive through Jasper❤️

I was talking to Nana as we exited Jasper park, I froze as I looked at my wrist, I forgot my watch in the bathroom at the hotel! Our walkie talkies were acting up so I wasn't able to get through to Jeremy and to top it all off I lost reception! I flashed my lights, honked my horn and finally decided to just pull over and hope he would notice! It finally worked. I did a look through the car but I knew, just knew that I had left it at the hotel. So back we went. We lost about and hour and a half because of this little detour but it was the only real delay in the trip. And because Of the detour I found my watch!!! The front staff guy saw me rush in and as soon as he looked at me he said "forgot something?" And held up my watch. I was pumped! Back in the car and off again!

❤️Another provincial park❤️

❤️Nature poking through❤️

As we drove through the Rockies I finished my audio book! I couldn't believe that I made it through and enjoyed it! It was essentially a british man reading the book aloud, doing dramatic voices and different accents but it was entertaining!

Not far after entering BC we saw our first bear. We believed it was a grizzley and therefore stayed in our cars but I was able to snap a pic!

❤️bear❤️

We were making good time all things considered, although another time zone change did help. We made it to Prince George around noon. It was a very hilly but there was not a mountain as far a you could see. It felt industrial. It was not necessarily the prettiest town. We ate quickly at a&w which was very needed to keep up our strength.

❤️Happy to be back on the road❤️

And as we continued on our journey the mountains came back, bigger and more beautiful than ever!

Along the way we saw another 5 black bears. They were unbelievably cute and if we didn't know they were so dangerous I'm sure we would have tried to catch one. But we do know how dangerous there are and therefore kept back and actually just did the slow drive by.

❤️driving by a big train❤️

We finally came across the highway of tears sign which jer did not think existed.  It's awful to see but clearly needed as there really is a killer on the loose nabbing hitch hiking girls.

❤️don't hitch hike in northern bc❤️

We buzzed through the last two hours of our trip. The roads were windy and beautiful but time consuming. It felt like forever. I kept getting chocked up thinking about seeing the family. There was a planned welcoming committee of my mom, her husband Anthony, my sister Linnea and her boyfriend Taylor, my little sister Veronica and my niece Jade.

❤️ready to see everyone❤️

We saw the famous seven sisters peaks as we passed the final half hour of our trip.

❤️7❤️

After 5 nights and 6 days, 5000 miles in two cars we finally arrived. It was such a strange mix of emotions. Happy to be there but exhausted from the miles. Surprised to see how beautiful the town was but shocked at how rural everything was! It was instant culture shock to realize that this would be our home for the next year but the sight of our family was so increadably exciting it gave me butterflies.

❤️home❤️

I will attempt to blog every now and then! Probably once our twice a week!

❤️wish us luck❤️
